Niger State Polytechnic

The Polytechnic attaches great importance to the observance of good conduct by the students and staff. Good conduct inveriably makes for peace and progress. An atmpmosphere of peace and security normally makes for meaningful teching and learning.

The Rector

Dr. Ibrahim Umar Kontagora

He was appointed the Rector, Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru by His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Niger State on the 10th of June, 2022, with effect from 1st June, 2022.

Until his appointment, Dr. Umar was the Departmental Examinations Officer, Departmental Coordinator Part Time Programmes, Head of Department of Computer Science and Member of Several Responsibilities Committees in the past.

He holds a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Information Technology from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), is a member, Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Chartered Member, Computer Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management of Nigeria (FCILRM), Member, International Research and Development Institute (IRDI), Member, International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Member, Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (ISMN).

Higher National Diploma

HND is a continuation of a National Diploma (ND-[equivalent to associate degree]) programme. The HND programme have a duration of two years.

National Diploma

ND is a programme for a two-year course with which the holder can be employed or be offered admission into HND and 200 level course in a university.

Diploma

OND is a programme for a two-year course with which the holder can be employed or be offered admission into ND and 100 level course in a university.

IJMB

IJMB is an approved, proven and certified program that guarantees admission into 200 level in various tertiary institutions in Nigeria,

Certificate

Our certificate programme is a specialized education designed to develop or strengthen knowledge. It builds on your knowledge of a particular career or course.

Remedial

Our remedial programme is an additional targeted support, concurrent with regular courses, for students who require short-term content and easy admission to ND1 or 100level.
