APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO FULL-TIME HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) AND REMEDIAL PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2018/2019 ACADEMIC SESSION

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes of studies in Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru for 2018/2019 Academic Session.

 

1.0    HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES FOR TWO (2) YEARS:

1.1    SCHOOL OF ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES

          i.        Public Administration

 

1.2    SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES

          i.        Accountancy

          ii.       Business and Management Studies

 

1.3    SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

          Electrical Engineering Technology with the following options:

i.                   Power/Machine

ii.                 Telecommunication/Electronics

 

1.4    SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

          i.        Estate Management and Valuation

          ii.       Urban and Regional Planning

 

1.5    SCHOOL OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES

a.       Science Laboratory Technology with the following options:

                   i.        Biology

                   ii.       Biology/Microbiology

iii.      Biochemistry

                   iv.      Biochemistry/Chemistry

                   v.       Biochemistry/Microbiology

                   vi.      Chemistry

vii.     Microbiology

                   viii.    Physics/Electronics.

          b.      Computer Science

          c.       Statistics.

         

Entry Requirements:

The minimum entry requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in the specified field are:

i.        National Diploma (ND) in relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit grade obtained from recognized institution, plus five (5) relevant credits which must include English Language and Mathematics at WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or Teachers’ Grade Two Certificate.

 

ii.       A minimum of one (1) year post National Diploma (ND) cognate working experience (industrial training).

 

iii.      All applicants (except those who obtained their ND from Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru) are to send transcripts of their National Diploma (ND) under confidential covers to the Registrar, Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru to ease consideration of their admission.

 

 

 

2.0    NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) FULL-TIME FOR TWO (2) YEARS:

2.1    SCHOOL OF ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES

          i.        Local Government and Development Studies

          ii.       Public Administration

 

2.2    SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES

          i.        Accountancy

          ii.       Banking Finance

iii.              Business and Management Studies

 

2.3    SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

          i.        Civil Engineering Technology

ii.       Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology

iii.      Mechanical Engineering Technology.

 

2.4    SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

          i.        Building Technology

ii.       Estate Management and Valuation

          iii.      Quantity Surveying

iv.              Urban and Regional Planning

 

2.5    SCHOOL OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES

          i.        Computer Science

ii.       Science Laboratory Technology.

          iii.      Statistics

          Entry Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) relevant credits which must include English Language and Mathematics at WAEC, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.

 

3.0    One (1) Year Full-time Remedial Programmes:

          The Remedial programmes are designed to prepare candidates with deficiencies in the entry requirements and subsequent admissions for full-time National Diploma (ND) programmes in the following:

3.1    School of Engineering Technology (SET)

          i.        Civil Engineering Technology

          ii.       Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology

          iii.      Mechanical Engineering Technology.

3.2           School of Environmental Studies (SES)

i.                   Building Technology

ii.                 Estate Management and Valuation

iii.              Quantity Surveying

iv.              Urban and Regional Planning.

3.3    School of Natural and Applied Sciences

i.        Computer Science

ii.                 Statistics

iii.              Science Laboratory Technology.

                  

          Entry Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings obtained from WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and Teachers’ Grade Two Certificate in subjects relevant to the programmes.

 

4.0    TWO (2) YEARS FULL-TIME POLYTECHNIC DIPLOMA IN THE FOLLOWING:

          i.        Survey and Geo-informatics

          ii.       Office Technology Management

          iii.      Social Development Studies

          iv.      Hospitality Management

iv.              Library and Information Science.

 

Entry Requirements:

The minimum entry requirements for Polytechnic Diploma programmes in the specified fields are:

A Minimum of five (5) credit passes at WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and Teachers’ Grade Two Certificate or equivalent, in not more than two (2) sittings, which must include English Language and Mathematics.

 

5.0    One (1) year full time IJMB Programmes:

          The Polytechnic runs one (1) year full time IJMB programmes in three (3) combinable subjects in Natural and Applied Sciences, Engineering and Arts leading to possible undergraduate courses in Universities

Entry Requirements:

The minimum entry requirements for IJMB Programmes in the specified field are:

WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and Teachers’ Grade Two Certificate with atleast five (5) credit passes or equivalent (in not more than two (2) sittings) in relevant subjects.

 

6.0    Method of Application:

All applicants must purchase the Polytechnic admission access Pin from any Commercial Bank through E-Transact for a Non-refundable fee of five thousand naira (N5,000.00) only excluding Bank Charges.

 

The admission form can be accessed online at the Polytechnic website, www.nigerpoly.edu.ng. Follow these steps to complete the Admission Form online:

i.        Open to the website

ii.       Click online Forms

iii.      Click Admission Form

iv.      Enter your Pin Code and Click Login

v.       Fill the Form

i.                   Click Preview Form

ii.                 Upload your Passport size Picture and Print Preview

iii.              Click Submit.

 

Closure of Sales of Admission Form

Sales of Admission Forms ends on 31st October, 2018.

Note:

Screening Exercise for all admissions will take place at Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, Main Campus on a date to be announced later.

 

Candidates are to check the Polytechnic website as from 1st November, 2018 for update.
